Needles and Moving

Well it's official. We will be moving to Brookfield WI for the summer. While we are grateful to be near family (my brother and his family lives about 30 miles south) we were disappointed to not be going to MN. I was looking forward to being by friends, my parents and having access to a car. I know this summer will be a trial but it will definitely be less of a trial then last summer. I was all alone last summer with a new baby. This year I will have family nearby and be able to fly cheap to MN once in awhile. Wish me luck. I HATE MOVING.

On to the other part of the post...On Tuesday Ethan had to get his blood drawn to test for lead, it's just something that 1 year olds have to do I guess. Well I was imagining a prick on the finger or something. Oh boy was I wrong, they actually draw blood out of his arm like you or I would do. Luckily Mike was with me because I could not do that. I sat out in the hall and waited for the screaming. To my surprise he didn't cry. He was so good and afterwards he got a free ice cream cone from the cafeteria. I HATE NEEDLES, just mainly when other people have to get them, especially my little boy.

Mike and Ethan's Birthdays

Well on the 4th was Mike's 25th birthday. Unfortunately he still had to go to school but when he got home he was greeted by balloons and a present. Later that night we got a babysitter and went to the movie Taken. It was so good. I hope that Mike had a good birthday!

Then on the 6th it was Ethan's birthday!! This was a big birthday since he turned 1! I baked cakes and cupcakes all morning and got the house ready for the little party we were going to have for him. We invited some friends over and ate pizza and chatted and then the time came for Ethan's birthday cake. He just stared at it for a little while and then he started touching the frosting and then he dug right in. He pulled it apart and threw it and ate it. He had a good time and it was fun to watch him with it. Thanks to all who came.

These are the cupcakes I made for everyone. I am not much of a decorator but I didn't think they were too bad.
