St Patricks Day

Okay so I really love this holiday. I'm not quite sure why but I think it's because it is so simple to be festive and it's so fun to be festive. When I was in high school I loved going to the parade in downtown St. Paul. I'm pretty sure I don't have a lick of Irish in me but I still like to make the most of it. We all wore green today and then for dinner we had a friend come over and had a surprisingly appetizing dinner for the way it looked. Here are the results!

Our Project

So I am not a person who sews but I definetly want to be able to. Well Mike and I decided to make our little girl a quilt. We decided before we start on a big project we would start on little ones first. Well for our first project we made a pillow for Ethan out of Minkee. Mike sewed the whole thing and after a few mishaps we ended up with a pretty good finished product. Mike did a great job sewing and Ethan loves his pillow!

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays

Well the first week in March brings about a few birthday's in our family. First it was Mike's birthday and he had to be at school until 7 so we couldn't really do anything but I did make him cupcakes which didn't really turn out but the top of the cupcakes tasted good. We also ordered some sticky fingers from Wingers to go, Mike's favorite dish. No pictures but it was fun!

Next was Ethan's 2nd birthday and although I wanted to make it a big one I decided since he was only 2 that it's OK and I can make the next one huge since he will probably know what is going on. We did have cake, balloons, and presents and he loved all that. He got a card with 2 dollars in it from Grandma Meier and a little kid basketball hoop from us. He also got a great soccer ball from our friends Chase and Shelly which we will put in good use once this snow melts. Also Ethan's friend Tucker brought him a huge thing of play-doh with accessories. He loved the play-doh and didn't want to ever stop, thanks Aubrie, Jedi and Tucker. It was a fun day and I'm glad it was a little more low-key. I did actually get pictures for this one though. I can't believe he is 2 already!!
